Kitchen cupboard organization

This cupboard is awkardly shaped as it is hard to get to the right furthest most corner due to the design. Any tips for how to organize this cupboard? The mess overwhelms me but I don't know how to fix it. Thanks in advance.

Oy, yes, that's a doozy. First, I'd take everything out. Second, I'd review each item and ask yourself when was the last time you've used it. Is there a pot / pan of the same size? Do you need duplicates? Third, consider donating to a family member or local charity anything that you don't use or haven't used in over a year. Of course, you can try selling online. Last, I'd store your pots / pans with the lids on them.

I don't think any type of gliding storage system would work because the cabinet is shallow. Putting a gliding basket in the back would mean you can't store anything in front of it. Do you have to use that cabinet to store pots and pans? Could you store something else in there? A cabinet like that might be a good place to store vases, seasonal decor, etc. If you must use it to store pots and pans, could you install some hooks along the back so that you can hang lids or pots? This would free up some room on the shelves.

I agree with megs. Pare down if you can. There are stackable sets, but Im not sure you would want to invest in a brand new set.

Is there any other place you can store some of them?

A rack on the doors for lids light help.

I feel like you can't assess one cabinet by itself. Do all the other cabinets in your kitchen make you happy, and this is the only wild child? Perhaps reorganizing everything (and purging as you go) will allow you to make better us of that awkward space.

@Maureen, I'm pretty sure the inside of the cabinet extends to a blind corner. You can sort of see that in the 2nd picture.

megs, adding pullouts to make the cabinet more efficient might make up for the loss of access to the back corner.

There are lots of blind corner organizers. I have had great luck with this place.

I just did a similar project with Shelf O Matic.....as you can see, my pantry was an unorganized mess. I really love the result!

The pieces that I see displayed above by other comments tend to be very expensive.( most brands like Rev A Shelf have them and the pricing is so high - it becomes not worth it) We have found that the least expensive application is roll out shelves with hardware that can be removed easily from the cabinet. We use the blind corner for storage of seldom used items (like Thanksgiving platters, small appliances that are seldom used - fondue pots? The roll out application makes the reachable space so functional that the blind corner becomes less of an issue. And yes Valerie's pantry above is so efficient that many of the items that she kept in a blind corner - we incorporated into her pantry. What a difference it made for her! Thanks Valerie!

Since those dazzling organizers are indeed expensive,

    Would you consider re-arranging?

Pots and pans do not do well in a blind corner cabinet.

Can you move them somewhere else that is easier to access, and then put other things where the pots and pans are now?

And for the lids, you can get an inexpensive rack in which to stack the lids sideways so that they are easy to see and access.

Another option for you to consider (which is what I did in addition to the pot lid rack) is to get a pot rack to hang from the ceiling.

There are so many attractive types, and this way you hang your pots and pans and they are always easily visible and easily accessible, one at a time.

You aren't stacking them, so you don't need to move any to find the one you want.

You don't need to move any just to use the oven.

When you free up that cabinet space, you now will have more cabinet space to take out of the oven the things you are currently storing in it like baking sheets or roasting pans.

It looks like some of your pot lids have open handles, so you can hang them from your pot rack as well.

Just make sure the pot rack is hung by someone who knows what they are doing so it will support the weight.

A decent rack with the pots on it is attractive, I think. I even have a great big colander hanging on mine as well as some heavy cast iron pans.
