Love the art and mirrors together.

Wipe the slate clean and try taller lamps and a larger rectangular piece above the bed. Let your lamps be colorful!!!! Tall table lamps are becoming easier to find. Or maybe ditch the lamps and do sconce lighting at eye level.

The room looks extremely boring without the art. It just screams "blah". Needs the art imo

Agree with Angela's first comment...the four framed art pieces are OK, but the mirror takes away from your beautiful bed

Yes where mirror is. Try looking on line. They don't have to be exact size, but close could go 36" high. Check TJMax Homegoods. Bed,bath n beyond may have them. Not expensive.

By the way love your tone on tone bed. It's restful.

After reading all the comments and thinking about it more, I'd also lose the mirror and leave the art (but lower).

art, no mirror. the different shades of same color work back nicely to bed and floor and completes the look.

Don't like the mirror because it's above the tops of the bedposts. But I like the mirror itself if you could find somewhere else to put it. I like the art on the sides but the lampshades hide the bottom pictures.

I think they would look fine together if the colors matched. The mirror frame is dark and the pics have light frames. Lamps need to be replaced.

I think it looks beautiful as you have it...with the art and the mirror. What's important is that YOU love it. Obviously you are torn, thus the reason for your poll. However, everyone has such different tastes and opinions. Just remember that you are the one living in the space. I very much doubt that there is one "perfect" solution.

Thanks everyone. I do appreciate everyone's suggestions and it has gotten me to think about a lot of options. I am considering spray painting the sunburst to a different tone to either match the frames or perhaps a cream or off white to match the art mats/lamps. Will that work or should Just take it down?

Just take it down and put it somewhere else in the house.

Here are some examples of lighter finishes on a sunburst mirror. That might be a great solution to tie the lamps, prints and mirror together.

I agree that it is a beautiful room! If you leave the mirror up, I think I'd leave the color as is since it works quite well with the great bed frame. I'm surprised people suggested to change the lamps. They might look a bit small now but I think it the art is lowered to about 5" above the nightstands, they'll look to be the right size. Also, the nightstands are fairly small so the lamps can't be too huge. If it were my room, I'd move the mirror elsewhere, but jrjax is right, it is a beautiful, very well done room. I would hang the art as is done in this bedroom picture and don't worry if it is hidden a bit behind the lamps. I think the lamps should be centered on the nightstands or a bit more toward the inside rather than the outside.

I like that idea about a book or two under the lamps. Make sure if you move the pictures off center, they still remain within the width of the nightstands and don't extend beyond the outside edge of the nightstands. I also like bluenan's examples. I prefer the light cream mirror to the gold one. If you plan to move the pictures lower, maybe you could take pictures again and this time do a poll "mirror or no mirror" rather than "art or no art"?

Like the Art but the lamps should be centered. Also, try loosing the 2 solid color pillows resting on the animal print pillows. I don't think you need them. Also considering adding some color to the night stands....small plant, a colored box, candle, colored try, etc.

I do like the cream finish on the mirror. There is a product I've used many times called "Rub 'n Buff" which is a small tube of metallic wax. You rub it on with your finger and then buff to a sheen. It comes in antique gold and could be used very sparingly over well chosen areas of the cream to create some soft gold highlights. It also comes in other finishes including pewter. You can get it at Michaels. I like the idea of taking something and making it a one-of a-kind piece that no one else has.

Get rid of the mirror and put the art on a different wall. I like the cleaner look and I like the art.

I would like to see the paintings on another wall-maybe on the wall next to the bed-hung in a grouping of 4. I like the cleaner look of having only the mirror on the wall behind the headboard.

Keep the art over the night stands and move the mirror over the headboard elsewhere.

I personally think that the bedroom needs art that stands out more; something more colorful would make the room more interesting. But as always, if you like the art, keep it there! And since this thread is fairly old, what did you decide to do in the end?

Keep the art and mirror. Change out the lamps. They are beautiful but are too bulky with the art.

Art, no mirror. Art is important and intimate and clash. The mirror looks trendy and impersonal. It is a nice room and you did a good job.

Changing out nightstands to something new.....any recommendations? Moving art and getting new pillows for bedding too.

New nightstands should should be level with the mattress top. I missed your original poll, but would have suggested a larger rug slipped further under the bed (1/3 to 1/2 the way under) and extending a bit more on the sides (20" or more without running into the walls. Would also have suggested removal of art and starburst and trying an accent paint color on that wall. In reality, your nightstands aren't bad, but I think the lamps are the wrong style for the bed. Maybe replacing them would be a better idea. Once you have stands and lamps, the two together should reach 58-64" above the floor.

Your bed and bedding are beautiful! There are a lot of lines and movement and I don't think that the additional art is needed. Either way, you have a beautiful room!
