Laundry Corner Dilemma

I do not have a laundry room. Instead I have a laundry corner in a larger multipurpose room that also acts as storage space and a playroom. I am looking for ideas to make this space more functional. I would appreciate both budget oriented ideas that I can implement now as well as future ideas. Since we are a family of 8, ultimately I would love a second washer and dryer (the plumbing is already installed).

Another dilemma is that the window behind the machines is the only window to a bedroom with no exterior walls. There are two large skylights in the multipurpose room the provide a lot of light and air. That filters into the bedroom from here.

A window to a bedroom with no exterior walls?

I’m thinking put the washer dryer along the wall where the bins are, hang the bike over the window then at least you’ll get more light into the bedroom behind the window

There is not enough room over the window to hang the bike. Also, you cant really see it in the picture but the wall where the bike is is slanted along the property line so the opening to this corner is narrower than the back part where the machines are.

@houssaon yes, on wall is agaisnt the neighbour's wall, two border other rooms and one is an interior hall. It was built that way before we bought the apartment.

I would remove the window and patch up the hole.

Then use the window in the bedroom, it that is possible. If not, add a skylight or solar tube in the bedroom, assuming there isn't a 2nd floor above. If neither is possible, use a large LED thin panel dimmable light mounted on the wall in the bedroom. Add some window casing around the light & hang curtains to the side or over the panel....pseudo window, IOW's.

Now you have a solid wall behind the W& D and can add another stacked set of machines. Or replace the machines with a set that has larger capacity, given your large family. The bike needs to be got out of the way. Battling it to get to the machines would drive me batty.

I need a to scale floor plan with as much detail as possible ideally a floor plan of the whole apt. all measurements clearly marked and all windows and door ways marked. IMO those pictures are not really giving me any idea of the space .As for the laundry space from what I see you should be able to just close off that wall in front with some doors , that is why I need a floor plan.

Does that window need to be an exit for the bedroom for safety/ fire reasons? If so, you probably need to dial back what you are asking this room to do so that someone could actually exit if needed and not block it. Can you just make it a laundry room as find another place for bicycle?

You need to find room for the bicycle somewhere else.

Can you hang it on the outside of the home with a bike cover on it.

    Bike storage unit outside?

Hang in hall on wall? Wall art.

This is the apartment. Measurements are metric. The difference is that the wall on the right hand side continues all the way through and the access is through the back room (from the top) not the room to the left of the laundry corner. Also, my kitchen is better layed out than what is on these plans.

The 3 little rooms on the top left do not belong to my apartment.

Can we see pictures of this large multifunctional room....not just the laundry corner? Surely there is a better place for the bicycle and bins (hampers?) and the blue tub.

Here are pictures of the rest of the room. Its a bit messy because the kids play there. We need plenty of play space, laundry, storage for the bikes and for medical equipment (we have a medically complicated child), and befor covid we used it as an extra bedroom for guests. we recently go rid of the pull out couch that was used as a bed because it took up too much space and we usually opted for just throwing down mattresses for several kids anyway but now we need some sort of seating to replace it. I want something that will not take up too much floor space.
