Do you have the newer W1/Heat Pump from Miele or the previous generation condenser model? On the W1 I don't experience any lint, however just by taking the two filter screens out after every cycle and removing the lint buildup, definitely some lint goes into the air and can stick on surfaces. From a heat perspective on the W1, there is no vent pumping hot air out or anything. Just some slight warmth given that the inside of the machine is hot, but nothing considerable.

If you use dryer sheets, it builds up a film on the filter screen. So then the filter doesn't work as well. Try washing them in dish soap and water and use a stiff dish brush to clean them well. Hope that helps!

cal - I have had the T8023c for about 1.5 years, a miele replacement for the ventless dryer that developed problems around the 2 year mark. Prior to that I had a vented compact (was it the 1526? I can’t remember!) for 15 years which was excellent. I absolutely hate the dryer I have now and want to change to a vented compact model. But thanks for explaining that the new miele heat pump model doesn't generate much heat.

kayozzy - I never use dryer sheets and do indeed clean the filters after each use. I still have the lint/dust everywhere!

Between the heat and lint that you describe, I wonder if there is an air leak in your dryer. I would check to ensure both the door gasket is sealing properly and also that you've cleaned the condenser and it's being sealed properly into the door. The manual actually states "Check that the gasket around the front of the condenser is flush and not crimped." and "To prevent leaks, make certain the condenser is pushed in all the way and locked in place" which makes me think that an air leak could happen that is pumping lint and heat out.
