a picture would be very helpful ... i dont quite understand your scenario ....

put it off in a corner.. with proper light ... and basically ignore it for a few months ... and see what happens ...

it should either leaf out.. or rot ... and then you will have your answer ...

try not to drown it with too much water ...

Definitely don't cut them off! They're what's usually called "spears". It''s the way many palms develop new fronds. The frond comes up as a spear and then later the leaflets separate out as you see in the older fronds.

In palms the frond is a single leaf. Along the stem of the leaf there are leaflets which in botanical terms makes these pinnate leaves and the plant a pinnate or "feather" type of palm.

oh i just got worried cuz it's so long and there's smaller "fronds" that already has leaves on them, glad its normal, i will leave it a couple months and see how it does :)

Generally in younger palms the older fronds are smaller. As the plant matures the newer fronds get larger and then remain much the same size with every new one.
