Need advice to remove discoloration from exterior trim

Hi, I am refinishing some exterior wood trim, but the old finish has worn off in some sports and the wood underneath is now discolored. After sanding the dark color is still there. I know there are a couple products on the market but I don’t want to totally bleach the unaffected wood (red oak). Any suggestions on what to use?

What are we looking at?

Red oak is a poor choice for exterior trim. It has little resistance to decay.

Yes red oak. The architect made style over substance choices in this place. I suspect it was to make it look like the red oak floors extended beyond the windows or something like that. Previous owner didn‘t keep up on refinishing. I tried some oxalis acid... worked ok in some spots and others look like this photo. i am afraid to use peroxide because I don’t want to bleach the red oak natural color...
