When you are considering wall tile, you will want the colors to work with your cabinets and floor. Any brown in the backsplash should play nicely with your floor. Any white in your backsplash should match the white of your counters. The white will be the most important choice because the backsplash abuts the counter and the wrong white will bother you every day.

I know.... thank you for clarifying that. That’s why I resorted to ask in this forum. I have been in 10 stores already and scared to make a mistake that I will have to look at every day.

I ordered this for my backsplash, not sure if you think it is too much white, but you would need to order a sheet to see the white vs the white in your countertops. I would recommend ordering a full sheet, the sample was too small to get a good idea. I can say that the quality is fantastic, but not cheap.

@Ayelet Stuhl, May I ask you where did you get your cabinets from? Are they laminated?

Thank you! My cabinets are IKEA... Ringhult door. My husband did all the installation and fillers etc. make it look beautiful. it’s laminate. But looks like thermal fused laminate. Great quality. We are in love!

You can also do plain white or glass tiles, but install them in an interesting pattern such as herringbone.

So how are you finishing the 2 walls - more cabinets? Shelves? Really hard to say what to do without knowing more info.

I'm still of the opinion that a backsplash should provide a background for other elements in a kitchen and should try to be the star of the show.. If you have open floating shelving the elements you have on it will provide color and pattern.

i would purchase stainless shelves and get good point of reach height on those walls between fridge and sink..there's a few ways to arrange them. this is your task area and arm reach is where frequent use items are best placed. drawers are good but you've eliminated wall cabs....okay.. but get the correct lengths and # of them for readiness of use. Stainless can be found at webstaurant/ Ikea and a few other spots.....worry free due to indestructible nature. I dont think this is going to end up display so get the rugged material. once these are chosen..move on to tile or paint or a mix.
