Sideboard woes

I’ve been searching for the perfect sideboard for the past year, and finally found something that caught my eye on facebook marketplace. Unfortunately I messaged the seller approximately five billion times and did not get a response. The listing doesn’t say anything about the manufacturer, but I was wondering if anyone here could help find something similar?

For some reason Drexel pops into my head. Mid 60's pecan stain, Italian provincial. It could be the base to a china cabinet. It looks too big to be a server. Nice piece. If it's local, look at your Craigslist. I see some sellers post in both.

reminds me of this one (Drexel, Thomasville, Lane, Dixie, etc,,,were all manufacturers of these pieces done in the 60's. )

These are mcm credenzas, sideboards, buffets, or dressers. They're all over the place. Craigslist, (I found my Brasilia on craigslist!)

Etsy, or Chairish. I've sold some of my pieces on Chairish. just search, "mcm sideboard', or mcm dresser. There should be tons.

I also have a fellow painter who does amazing paint jobs on these. The Resplendent Crow

Thank you! I actually did not connect the one I found with MCM, in my mind that’s your third and fourth photo, so that’s really helpful. In that case I guess just continuing to wait and keep scouring preowned listings is the way to go. Man I just want some furniture already!

If you are in a hurry it won’t happen unless you just do regular retail. IMO we need to see the rest of the room I personally do not like the center pulls but I do love many MCM sideboards

The one you posted is definitely Italianate, not MCM; not that the seller would necessarily know enough about it to post that in their description. Use that as a search term to optimize possibilities of finding one, but just using a manufacturer's name and the term "buffet," "sideboard," or "china cabinet" may bring up more of what you're looking for.

I’m not in a huge hurry, but it has already been a year and I could really use the storage! Not opposed to retail, however I haven’t been able to find anything I love there either... Attempted to get this inexpensive one from Amazon/Wayfair, and it arrived damaged THREE times after which I gave up.

Also I’ll post room photos shortly, but it’s honestly a blank slate at the moment since the table/chairs are temporary and I’m waiting to finalize the sideboard before I make any other decorating decisions.

This is the space! Sideboard spot is under the painting

you're right, it's a wide open choice. get whatever you like and then pick the table and chairs that work with it.

Here’s another that I really liked, but at 24” deep it’s unfortunately just not going to work - I need something under 20” to allow for a less narrow table in the future.
