Hahaaaa I agree with Beth! The backsplash and counter should be redone before the cabinets. Also updating the hardware would refresh it a lot. The tv should come Down. If you want it in the kitchen I would put it in a cabinet or something. I’ll show you what I mean ....

Really nice big open space. Lots of potential and doesn’t need so much workerman work. Like no breaking walls.... floors are also on fleeeeeek. Lol. I’d also maybe redo counters

you know what you could do, is paint that island (can only see the back of it in the one pic) or, paint those cabs way off in the corner.

Then depending on the style and color of your furniture, repaint the walls to match.

that's a huge open space. Could a regular island be done there? (meaning, straighten it out and have it one level? )

I think a kitchen designer is needed. The space needs more than fresh paint.

Unless you absolutely have loved gray as a color and have forever don't do it. Its on a sail boat floating towards the horizon but soon that boat is going to have some outboard motors installed on the back.

Instead of gray think about black or a dark bronze like Urbane Bronze. It will work well with the existing wood color and the flooring.

I would pull that entire island shape and do a large rectangular island in black. Change out counters. Change out backsplash. Change out hardware. Do a nice white on the walls. Pull down the white wood blings and either do woven shades, no shades or a lovely fabric roman shade. New pendents. I would also pull down that entire hood and do a beautiful shaped hood that doesn't connect to the cabinets on either side.

Beautiful wood cabinets! Please don’t paint them.

I echo the thoughts above and will add that the flooring would not do well with gray painted lowers, IMO. Lovely house!
