Really my first thought would be who makes the sheets and honestly why a bed this size.I also do not think kids sleeping with parents is a good thing so I guess if you want it get it

I think a discussion of why a family permanently sharing the same bed is not really a design decision. That is a life style choice.

However I can't imagine actually wanting to live with a bed that grotesquely large. Isn't that why people have comfortable family rooms in which people sprawl and watch television, play games or otherwise interact with family members? Why the need for this ot occur on a bed in one's bedroom.

Most parents let their young children sleep with them on an occasional basis if they wake up or are sick or whatever and a king size bed is more than adequate for that purpose. I can't imagine a child over a certain age sleeping with their parents unless they were traveling and sharing a hotel room.
