Waht is the height of that low piece? IMO hard to give advice without critique . I need a lot more info as to the rest of the house decor . You need drapes that fit and go to the floor, is tah a real brick wall? Do you expand the table sometimes ? I need info and more ideas of your style . I do not think the piece by the window works there so how much do you need it. A rug will only work if you have 36” all around the table to fit the chairs.I see a lot of mismatched pieces do they all need to be there . Please provide some info .

The brick wall is wallpaper, and the room has just been painted. No biggie on the drapes I will let them out . In my 1910 house all of this worked together. my Layout is crazy here. The buffet is staying and yes I need it. It’s a great arts and crafts sideboard. The low piece is 22 high. We refer to it as the coffin.

You are heading in the right direction. Get rid of the coffin. If possible, put the sideboard on a wall where there is some space on either side of it. Try it in front of a window if all else fails? Recover chairs in a bright and cheery fabric, add complementary curtains and rug and some art. Fabrics, rug and art in colors and patterns you love, that work with the rest of your house.

Here is an idea for artwork, a chandelier, and other decor accessories for your dining room.

I wonder if you could move the sideboard (beautiful!) to the center of the wall where the pet food dishes appear to be. It seems crowded where it's at. The low furniture piece doesn't seem to work in the dining room for me. I'd also try turning the table in the room so that the length of it faces the double window. Not a fan of the brick wallcovering. I think I'd start with a ceiling fixture and rug that you love to set the tone and work from there.

Thank you. i love the coffin. It’s a beautiful piece that was my great grandmas. I always had it under windows. believe it or not, all of the walls are the same length. I am going move the buffet to the wall where the coffin is, the coffin under the window, and do a wall grouping of mirrors either above the buffet or on the brick wallpaper. Thank you on the table. I always had it the other way and the hubby wanted to turn it :). I could always paint the coffin as a window seat. I think I would like to add a cart and then I still have the cat bowl wall. I thought a chair and table? Why does everyone hate the wallpaper. when people walk in they like it. It’s so funny!
