So, this is the project. We hired a designing company to redo our home. 2500 sq, year: 1993. For the living room, we repositioned all the can lights and replace it with a smaller can lights. Company promised us after patching and painting, the ceiling will looks flat and smooth. So... those pictures are their work after 3rd coat. Initially, they did 2nd coat but we told them it was not acceptable, and they did some fixing and applied a 3rd coat. However, it is still looks horrible.

I know our ceiling was not perfect before, however, it definitely get so much worse after their job. The painter told me they are sorry but this is the best they can do because there are too many holes to patch. But this is not their manager promised to us, he told us after patch and paint it will look perfect. The worse thing is the manager is on a one week trip and I have wait till him come back to talk about it.

I am crying for days. What should I do? Is the ceiling normal to you guys? Am i too picky? I saw ugly shadows everywhere! I regret to redo the can lights now! What should I do? Look at the picture, I think the sagging is because the poor patching, taping and primer job. It can not be fixed anymore. The only option is to redo the whole living room ceiling. Please help if there are other better solution.

How should I argue with the manager? What if he told me that this is the best they can do?

I have wrote down some possibility that I could come up with. Please help me that base on your experience, which outcome is more likely and reasonable to happen.

1: Manager refuse to do anything about it. .................... I will get a lawyer and take it to the court. It sucks.

2: Manager agrees to redo the ceiling but I have to pay for the redo ceiling cost.

3: Manager agrees to redo the whole thing on their cost.
