Input on gas range, looking for power and no-scratch top

Choosing appliances and reading reviews is so confusing! (Thank you for letting me get that off my chest.)

Details: new home build, do not require all appliances to match, budge for range is 5000.00 max, looking at 30" slide in range, but could be convinced to go to 36". I cook and bake a LOT for large gatherings. Do not care for wi-fi but if it can be disconnected that's ok. Single oven preferred and I would rather choose my own convection settings (not "auto convert.")

Kitchenaid - no because I've read too many reviews that say it's too easy to bump up against the knobs and turn the burners on. I have already had this issue with a different range and it's a deal breaker.

GE Cafe - looks promising with the 6 burners. Many folks complain about the easily scratched stainless top.

Bosch - lots of complaints about inability to boil water.

Thermador - it's pricy, but is it worth it if I'm only getting 4 burners? The stove looks nicely sized and I don't really care about a warming/storage/baking drawer beneath.

I have a 36” Bertazzoni all gas with convection ( not sure what you mean by choosing convection settings ) I run a catering biz from home and I bake a lot with that biz so I also have a double all electric wall . IMO the range is easy to keep the top clean and all the parts go in my DW. I do have the controls at the front but you really need to lean on them to hear the clicking which warns you . My range also does not turn the gas on unless you turn the knob. I have had my Bert for 13 yrs not one issue. I undestand the new ones have a self cleaning oven but I don’t actully need that as the oven gets wiped out all the time and I am used to commercial gas ranges that never have self clean and my understanding is you can’t have self clean in a gas oven . I think the new Berts have a choice of electric ovens which I don’t like since I like some things baked in a gas oven like bread and pizza for sure. But of course the elctric has a self clean.

Have you looked at Bluestar? Also pricey, but people who cook a lot love them. They require a pretty robust hood because they're quite powerful.

Thank you! I appreciate the comments of an experienced cook! In my part of the country (rural LA) Im not sure anyone sells it services this brand, but I will take a look.

Why everyone always talk about MUA being in the $5k range and more if heated MUA is required?
I did mine for $850 not heated, done by an HVAC contractor and it has a permit by the local building code.
Call around and to see how much MUA will cost you before you rule out the BS range.
I'm in Charlotte NC by the way.
