i dont really see the damaged leaf as threat to the whole ... since it was what we call...'mechanical' damage' ... aka physical ... rather than disease or bug related ...

big city name location .. is it spring or fall ...???

looks like a pretty big plant in a small pot.. you might need to repot it ...

when was the flight .. how long have you had it home ... oh i see.. about 2 months ... it should be over that stress ... so if its the right time of year.. we ought to think about the repotting ....

there is a houseplant forum .... where this should be a very common plant ... for future reference ...

i would cut this leaf down to about 6 inches of stalk.. and let it naturally dry.. and in a few months.. the remnant should pull off easily ..

i would ignore the other slight browning ... just insure proper watering .. let it near dry between waterings ... how often that is.. may depend on how you heat your house.. if its winter ... and where you are ... e.g. in my MI ... ambient humidity is a problem in the dead of winter.. with the forced air furnace running what seems constantly ...

this is a very easy plant to have... lets try not to kill it with too much love ...

dont forget.. if you are repotting. the most important thing in the pot.. is the media... not the plant.. so get some good stuff ... it will be worth the small extra cost ...

Hi Ken, thank you for the tips. I haven't seen a houseplant forum but will look for it next time.

I'm in Miami, FL now, it is Fall but right now it's 75F. I'll cut ithe leaf down like you said and will get a bigger pot to repot it. The new leaves are big and the plant is getting heavier. Thanks again!
