this late in fall.. sun levels are declining significantly.. as noted by it getting dark by 430 or so ... even in NJ ....

that would be my first thought ...

I’m a bit surprised that fennel would be considered a suitable crop for NJ in the Autumn. What are your temperatures?

It's been mild floral, highs mostly in the 50's and 70's, there's been some frost but mostly above freezing. I also grow fennel but mostly decoratively, that, and it's deer resistant. My question is when is fennel normally harvested for the bulb? In the Fall, now or can it be harvested in the Spring?
