It's a gray finish. A number of plaster manufacturers may call it French Gray.

It's anybody's guess as to the brand.

Thank you! I was guessing maybe a French gray. I have a large tanning ledge so I’m trying to keep that in consideration when picking plaster since it will be the first thing you see. I’d like to have a nice gray finish for the ledge without getting too dark in the pool which goes to 5 1/2 ft deep. Any suggestions I should look at?

We use CL Industries products-Hydrazzo, Krstylekrete, etc...

The French Gray will cast a darker color as the pool depth changes. It's pretty much inherent of any of the French Grays out there or a similar grays. You can see in that photo the gray is predominant on the sunshelf and notice the color change in the deeper water.

It will have a different cast if a portion of the pool is in sunlight or the shade at different times during the day.

I appreciate all your help! My pool is in almost full sun all day with no overhanging trees nearby and it faces north. I don’t mind a little more of the blue gray color but have seen some pools that get too dark, almost murky looking even with the slightest overcast day.

Did you choose a color? I am doing a very similar pool and have the same question. French grey looks dull to me.

I did a custom French Gray with extra blue and black quartz. Love it!

Did you use Hydrazzo? Diamond Brite has a color called Aegean Sea which is a combo of french gray and tahoe blue. I think it might look similar, but the Hydrazzo feels much nicer. I’m wondering if it is worth the upcharge.

Thank you so much! It looks great! (And, sorry, I now see that you had already said it was NPT Quartzscapes). That's what I'm about to have done, but I was worried that the French Gray might be too light.

I bet it looks even better in person! Just for clarification- I know the regular QS French Gray has one bag of black flakes. Do you mean that you used 2 bags of black and one bag of blue? Thanks again. This has been really helpful to me.

Yeah it’s hard to really capture it in pics. It’s been so long now I can’t remember the exact “recipe” of French Gray but I had them add one extra bag of black quartz and one extra bag of blue to each batch. That causes it to pull more dark turquoise
