Gray and oak aren't great together I would white subway tile

The challenge is you have warm cabinets and flooring. I agree with jck's suggestion, though white could fight more with your floor color.

Thanks all.. I was hoping a lightish grey subway tile would look ok

Do a white subway tile with silver grout. I wish you would have asked us first before putting in the counter :)

What would you have suggested countertop wise haha?

I would have done a black counter. Then you could have done more of an off white tile that could have blended better with the floor.

Side story: when I did my kitchen 10 years ago, we installed dark Giallo Ornamental granite with my Dove White cabinets. The two clashed. It took two tries to find a backsplash that would transition from the white to the brown. And it took months and really it came down to one choice.

So I understand what has happened here.

Interesting.. I’ve never thought of painting the floor tile like herbflavor suggested.. but I think that’s going to be a real consideration
