kitchen help needed

I don’t like the color of my kitchen cabinets (a light brown almost pinkish tone ) and or countertop (white) with my flooring. I’ve already changed all hardware and appliances to stainless steel. It all seems off. I’m considering changing the flooring, what color !!??? Or possibly the countertops. No idea what colors! Help!

what product is the current floor? if its like "Pergo" I'd change it. If its hardwood it can be sanded down restained and topcoated. I thought upon the views here it is the laminate/Pergo type material but not too sure. The layout seems okay if its working for you..... so that means the counter and backsplash can remain. A much different floor would be a good thing...strive for contrast between the cabs and floor/ a lot of contrast. Then counter and backsplash redo would be OPTIONAL, depending on budget......maybe do it a bit later when funds will allow. Good hardwood floor is not the cheapest but so worth it. bring home samples.

Thanks, I don’t know what the floor is! It looks like it’s almost real wood painted ! It was put in about 20 hrs ago so I have a feeling it’s real wood

A couple of less expensive ideas: you could get an under cabinet mount microwave to get the microwave off of the counter so it’s not so tempting to treat that area as a shelf. Your dishwasher and panel stand out as older than other things in the kitchen. I’d consider a dishwasher update and just use a stainless front and abandon the panel. I’d also consider a backsplash update to refresh the 4x4 tiles. A refinish on the floor seems like a good option, but could be a large undertaking, depending upon how far that flooring extends through your home. I get why it’s not love about your cabinets, but they have a lot of nice things going forward them. I like the coordinating range hood, your glass uppers look nice, and the cabinetry looks nice overall. Good luck.

re: "I have a feeling its real wood" You really should find out what your floor is.

Something that would look nice in your kitchen is to replace a couple of the upper cabinets with floating shelves. You’d be surprised how different a kitchen looks. You could use a different wood stain for them or have them painted. If you don’t want to redo your layout or replace cabs you could always order new cabinets fronts.

Something I am learning the hard way is do not install hardwood floors until you do your kitchen remodel, if you plan to do a kitchen remodel (as in, changing the layout). Put in a luxury vinyl plank or something that can easily be ripped up come the time you are ready to change the layout and then install real hardwood if you want to. If you already have hardwood floors then refinish only if you know you aren’t going to change the layout. My entire kitchen floor (all hardwood) is having to be refinished now that we are changing the layout and our floors are only 5 years old. Patching and lines around appliances create issues that have to be fixed when you move things around.
