Putting it above the fireplace is considered "high", so you will probably want your seating position to be far away - hence a large screen (as wide as the chimney).

The TV above a fireplace, unless you're sitting pretty far back, has you tilting your neck UP to watch. This gets old / tiresome, fast. That may not be a great place to put your TV, despite the convenience of it. I much prefer the TV to sit on something so that it's at eye level when we sit to watch.

I pretty much agree with Bart. I don’t understand why people want their TVs so high up!

But, your fireplace appears pretty short so a tv over it MIGHT work better than most if your room is big enough so you can have seating areas far back.

None! I find it hard to watch tv with my neck and head pointed up. It's like sitting in the front row of the movie theater. Just my little opinion. Good luck!

Why do you say that (twice)? I normally sit about 30" away from my 55", 4k screen. When watching a movie, or other entertainment, I may sit 7 or 8 feet away (but not always).
