Adam, your MT is lovely, if a brighter shade than he is in my garden. He's a delight, isn't he?

It seems really odd, there you have have Monsieur Tillier in bloom with the whole season ahead, and here he's still putting out the last few blooms of the season. We had a hard freeze last night, but his several buds and blooms appeared unscathed this morning. One more cold night, then several more warm days ahead. He might yet manage ten or fifteen more blooms before Christmas, lol.

When I grew this rose in my old garden, I remember a lot more orange in the blooms. I think the colour has deepened with more exposure. Thankfully we don’t get frost here, but he did defoliate completely at the end of winter. I love how the blooms are evenly “dotted” over the foliage, which is also full and fresh.

He's one of my favorites. Always spotless here in blackspot central. Loves to grow. Most of the time my MT is darker pink, with shades of copper. It's a very warm color. Right now, with the cool weather, every bloom seems to be a different shade, all of them lovely. MT is one of my hardiest teas, too. Here's hoping I didn't just jinx him, lol.

I think this is our 'Archduke Joseph': it looks like it. I've always admired this rose's foliage, so shapely, healthy, and darkly shining. My plant keeps its foliage through the winter, then sheds the old leaves in March, looking briefly ratty before growing its new leaves, as it sounds like yours does.

My plant has set a lot of buds, but I rather doubt they'll open, with the currently short days and a forecast of frost. I've written before about how this own-root rose has reached the dimension of a substantial climber, scrambling through the persimmon and onto the wisteria pergola above. It is a great, great rose.
