I don't know about roots, but I do know that those trees will get big if they're happy and it'll be moshing into your house before many years have passed. If you have a good spot further from the house, it might be a good idea to move it while it's still small.

How big it gets and how soon depends on climate area. And if it hanging over the roof would be considered unacceptable or not - if your foundation is intact it's never going to do anything to that.

Good point. I think they can be pruned into any size or shape, too. I just don't know why anyone would--they make such nice trees. But a loquat bush is better than no loquat at all.

Your location will also determine whether you want an evergreen right outside your home. Do you need shade? Or do you want as much sun as possible?
