Very narrow laundry room Help!

I am in desperate need of advice, you all helped me so much with my living room, thanks.
My laundry room is a mess, very narrow space. The washer hookup is behind it and needs to stay there the dryer is vented out through the roof. I am going to get a new dryer and am thinking of taking the washer off the pedestal so I can build a countertop over both of them. .????
