Here goes... kitchen layout feedback

Since exact measurements aren't shown on these graphics, to give you an idea, room is roughly 22 x 13 open to octagon shaped centre hallway/staircase. Sliding doors go to rear patio. Shared wall is octagonal dining room and I hope to remove the two angled sections by moving a drain over to the straight section of the wall of pantry cabinets (vertical column bulkhead will also be removed to extend those cabinets one more foot to the exterior wall). There isn't anywhere else reasonable to relocate the drain so at minimum that cabinet wall will remain.

Fridge is 36" column on left and freezer 24" on right. Cooktop/oven is 36".

Island is roughly 120" x 45". The thinking is to have seating for our family of 5 to free up the space for the larger island and the club chairs. Ideally 2 on the short end but I'm not sure if that will be too cramped. There's a pinchpoint between the Island and the small wall of pantry cabinets so any increases to the width of the island will need a corresponding decrease in length.

We're open to moving the sink and DW to the island if there are functionality gains but if not it is nice to leave the island unencumbered for prep and entertaining.

Overall thoughts and ideas are very appreciated!

The island looks too big, but otherwise good.

Thanks, can you clarify "too big"? Do you mean it dominates too much of the open space? If it is 120" x 45" in the graphics, what would you change it to to be more ideal?

I’d have it line up with the edge of the fridge instead of impede on the sitting area and walkway by octagonal wall. The sliding door opens on the left, I hope? Then you can pull the comfy chairs forward. Also a slightly smaller island will not require a seam in countertop.

Yes sliding door opens on left. Good idea I just need to fit seating for 5 but maybe 2 x 3 seating will work with the reduced length.

Good basic layout, but I agree that the island shouldn't extend past the edge of the fridge. Keep in mind that each seat needs 24" of elbow space and 15" leg space, for comfort, so for 2/3 the island needs to be at least 48" deep, and 87" long. That depth shouldn't be a problem with the reduced length. Make sure the counter support system is designed before installation.

People need 2 feet of counter space for seating, so a 10' island would seat 5 on one side. I agree with reducing the length. You can put one stool on the end only (you need space for overlapping knees/undercounter space, so two stools can't share a corner). I feel like those club chairs are too cramped. I also think you should consider whether you want your fridge and freezer that far apart (for example, do you use ice and does your fridge have an ice maker? do you pull frozen meat from your freezer and thaw in the fridge? will you want to carry things back and forth?) What are your aisle widths? (Counter to appliance handle) What are through the open spaces you show? For example, what's next to the freezer column?

skooch range to left.....modify your total 60 inches of fridge freezer into one unit [48 in?] and place where the freezer column is. You will have maybe 12 or 15 in between range and fridge then ,but covers on the right burners give some landing to rest hot dishes etc. Do you consistently need 6 burners? To left of sink window run continuous counter/ can it go under window at reduced depth to set out things and have coffee etc. Skip the two chairs. I'd eliminate the tall pantry/ maybe a narrower unit, left of patio door for infrequent items/ other types storage . Seems like you could work in [ under counter extra freezer] if you desire between island and longer counter run somewhere. Single sink at window/ and yes to a sink at island for sure....personal preference as which is cleanup and which is bar/prep sink.
