Trouble logging on - a request for help from my friends on this forum

Friends,

I post mainly on two forums, this one and the Readers Paradise Forum. For some reason I have no trouble at all logging on to this one but when I go to the PR forum, I am not logged on even though I am here. When I then try to logon there, I get a message that it has gone into a loop with too many re-directs.

I've followed all Houzz's directions (updated software, clear my cache, change from Safari to Chrome). None of them work. I've been on Gardenweb since the 1990's. I remember from Spike's days that RP was in a subgroup called the Glyph forums that were somehow separate and a little different. I suspect that Houzz made an update that worked just fine with the bulk of Gardenweb but not with the Glyph forums. They may not have noticed because as far as I know RP is the only remaining Glyph forum. There never were very many.

So why am I posing this? I want to make a request of you. If you don't mind, please try to logon to the Readers Paradise Forum, and let me know if you succeed. I've seen a few recent posts there, but not very many, and I can't easily get in contact with any of the members there. If it really is just me, well, at least knowing that would be useful. And if it is not just me, that is something I can take back to Houzz.

You won't find RP listed in the forums list, at least I don't think you will, so you'll have to make a google search to find it.

Hi Rosefolly - I was able to access the Readers Paradise forum:

https://www.gardenweb.com/discussions/paradise

and remained signed in.

Yesterday, I had a similar problem to what you are encountering when I used the search functionality. I had no problems when I was on the Antique Rose forum but if I hit search I was immediately signed out.

Other than this annoyance with Houzz, I hope things are well with you !

@Rosefolly z5 I just tried to sign in on RP, and I couldn't. I got the error message "The page isn’t redirecting properly". I can see the posts, I just can't sign in. How-uzzlezz strikes again.

I didn't even know RP existed, but looking over some of the posts, it's something I'd be interested in. Hopefully this is a temporary snafu. Houzz is "eat up" with them :P

..just to say, I've occasionally posted on the RP forum, and I've just checked and do not have a problem with it.. still logged in.. I've tried it using the gardenweb. and the Houzz url's. and no problems encountered..

Many thanks to all of you for checking. It seems to be a problem that strikes some - even many - but certainly not all.

In the meanwhile, I was able to contact some of the Readers Paradise regulars off the forum. Some are fine, some are having problems, and some have had this problem in the past. For one it magically went away after a day or so, but for another (like me) it was persistent. She developed a workaround that allowed me to logon early this morning. It might be of interest to you, Fig-Insanity.

If you logon with the URL https://www.houzz.com/discussions/tag=496 it takes you to the Readers Paradise Forum. The header says Home and Gardens Discussions, only it really is RP. At this point you can read and post. However, if you want to be able to easily get back some day without having to remember this odd URL, then go to the right directly across from Home and Garden Discussions and click on the box marked Follow. This will list the forum for easy access on the lefthand side of the screen whenever you are logged in to Gardenweb under My Topics.

The person who gave me this workaround said that the problem started with an update that increased security.

How strange -- I went to that forum and had no problem being logged in. I hope they fix this glitch for you soon!
