i dont know if it will work, but, you might want to try a tension wire with a turn buckle thing on it, on both of those gates. It will at least keep them level. One looks very much like it is dragging the ground in one corner, which could be part of your problem at least. You can buy it in a package at the hardware store, ready to install.

And get more substantial hinges. It was probably not used much except for access to the fenced in area once in a while rather than on a daily basis. Maybe install a smaller/lighter entrance gate for daily use.

Or reconfigure it so one side is small/lighter for daily use and other side only for occasional use.

Looks like something is in a bind because the metal post on the pintle looks bent in the close-up Photo 6.

What sort of wind load does this gate have to withstand?

It looks to me like the break in that 2 x 4 bar was caused by pressure inward, not downward. Although the gates are pretty massive, they look well-built, and don’t appear to be sagging. I am of the opinion something/someone was pushing inward on the gate, or it was the result of wind loading. Is that bolt at the bottom of the right gate functional?

@kudzu9 I think the break came from two things: wind load, and also the brackets on the fence that are holding the bar, are not spaced evenly. Theres a lot more room on the right side, and I think that pressure may have snapped it. The bolt is non functional. I have bought tubing to sink into the ground and also two new drop rods, one for each gate that I will be installing. I think if I move one of the brackets so the load distribution is even, and have a bolt functioning for each gate, that should solve this issue. Hopefully.
