Have you worked with one of Ikea's kitchen planners? They're doing virtual appointments these days. They're probably the best ones to answer these sorts of questions.

I've booked an appointment but it isn't until late Dec. I thought I'd ask here first, and if people thought it would work in the space, either work with IKD or a local designer to properly make the design. Most contractors are booked until March/April so I'd like to get a head start. Thanks!

Looks like a good start to me. I'd move the sink and the dishwasher over one cabinet toward the fridge to get more prep space between sink and cooktop. Are you on a slab?

@jslazart. We are on a slab - how could you tell?? Moving the sink and dishwasher over is a great idea - I'll see how much it'll cost and make a decision. I also thought about swapping the positions of the dishwasher and sink and use the upper cabinet by the stove to store dishes but I'm not sure it's enough space.

I agree that the sink and dishwasher should move toward the fridge, but that would leave you with interference with the fridge (or especially the freezer) when the dishwasher is open. For that reason I’d also consider swapping the fridge and the pantry, which otherwise wouldn’t be my preference, but I don’t think it’s a big deal (unless there is a wall to the right of the pantry).
