Just a thought - if you are just getting started, use inexpensive white pleated shades for a while until you get settled, get furniture situated, and have a better feel for your style. There are a lot of options out there - give yourself some time to see how the rooms develop before committing to a permanent choice.

Do a Google or Amazon search for temporary pleated shades. You can get very inexpensive paper shades that are clipped to a certain height or slightly more expensive fabric shades that can be raised and lowered. Go for the easy adjustment if budget permits. Pay attention to the fact that some are light filtering and some are room darkening. You will want a coherent appearance from the outside of the house so stay with the same product to avoid having different color backings on the shades. They are easy to trim and to install, just be sure you use the adhesive strip on the frame or the glass so you don't damage painted wall when you remove them.
