They will not be floating and I need to see the pantry since I rarely like walk in ones .I aslo like a counter in one if you must so I need more info and pics.

I prefer adjustable. The spacing is never quite right on stationary shelving, either too far apart or too close for what I want there.

Hi there! Thanks for the response. I agree, I do like the counter type in the pantry as well. Here is a rough sketch. Its all dry wall and no lights currently. Its an odd space yes, but its what we have to work with. 10' foot ceiling in here.

Adjustable shelves allow for changing food buying habits. Check out an Elfa system at the Container Store. I organized my walk-in pantry like a grocery. All the soups together, the baking supplies together, pastas, etc. The shelf depths were varied so tiny things didn’t get lost in the back- little jars of pesto, bruschetta, anchovies. Cereal boxes are all in ginormous sizes so they needed more space between the shelves. I left room on the floor for 12 packs of Coke, etc. although I love my current house, I really miss my walk-in pantry. Anyone who was visiting could find the tomato sauce and the olives. I had a shelf with a basket for breads and cookies so the grandchildren could find their own snacks.

I looked at the Elfa, but the problem was that its only in 36" width increments. Id loose some space because of the prefab layout. I do like the adjustable, but I dont.. ha. We had wire shelves in our last and not again.

Elfa can be cut to the length you need. They do it in the store. You can also do it yourself with a hacksaw but it's easier (safer!) to let them do it.

@itsourcasa Thats pretty much what I was thinking! I was going to stain the shelves to darken them up, route the edges, etc.

@tcscwi the whole project was under $150! We stained them early american, which we already had in the garage.

Well, we got the floating shelves in. Still need to finish them off, but we like them

Here are the finished shelves. Stained with old american and then put 3 coats of poly on them to give them some more durability. Enjoy!
