Outside Vinyl Help. 12" Board n' Batten by CertainTeed?

I didn't start this journey to build a white house, but here we are! We have decided that we like the 12" width of board n' batten that Certainteed offers in Colonial White (it really is the only good color option). I like the wider option versus the 6" and 8" options. So, my question. The horizontal siding... do we go with the 5" clapboard or the 8" clapboard vinyl in Colonial White? Don't have the money to do hardi on the whole house, or I would.

The windows don’t have the grids the plan shows. White is the only color choice in the vertical siding of that width. I actually thought the house had a simple roof line compared to the neighborhood. It’s a custom home in sea of not, so we needed to blend in somewhat with the neighborhood.

IMO one style one material on the whole house with that busy roof line ,all those grids and I would not do shutters either . I have no idea why white was the only choice so can’t comment on the color.

Yes, we did! I love it, worth the splurge to get the extra wide board and batten. Still waiting on shutters…

We went with the 5" clapboard for the horizontal siding because it fit our neighborhood and it was cheaper. I wish that white wasn't the only decent color chose for the 12" board and batten but it worked out for us.

Thank you! Your house is beautiful! We are considering the B&B for our 2nd floor addition. We have brick on 1st floor that we plan to paint white. So white will work for us also. :)

The wider option makes it look more high end. Now when I see the thinner option I don’t like it. Board in batten only comes in certain lengths so make sure your contractor knows that. Should be fine for one story.
