Satisfaction with kitchen appliances?

We are about to replace our existing kitchen appliances (almost 20-yr. old gas cooktop, electric oven and refrigerator) with mid-level new, stainless options. Plan on purchasing a slide in gas stove with electric oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. I love to cook and bake and am dismayed by on-line user reviews of almost all major brands. Looking for recommendations on brands from Houzz members.

I went with kitchen aid for my last appliances and I've been really happy with them across the board. I've had viking and subzero in the past and I've been just as happier, if not happier with Kitchen Aid.

I went with a Samsung fridge, Electrolux induction range and matching microwave and a Bosch dishwasher. You don't have to have the same brand across the board, you can mix and match as long as the finishes are the same and the handles are similar. I picked the ones I thought had the best reviews. I've had them just over a year and I am happy with all of them.

We have installed the Kitchenaid dual fuel slide in range in several kitchens and clients have been very happy with them. We like the grates on the Kitchenaid. We steer customers away from some of the brands because the grates are not stable and/or continuous. Whatever you get, make sure that you use an adequate ventilation fan above a gas range. I would not go less than 400 cfm in order to help manage the heat that a gas unit produces.

We like the Samsung or Kitchenaid refrigerators and they have held up well for our customers.

it's really really hard to choose appliances. I did so much reading! I didn't want a lot of features I knew I wouldn't use, but I did want some features I thought would be useful. Cleaning is another issue :) I found a lot of good information on AJ Madison and CNET product reviews. You can compare several different brands at once and it makes it easier. I printed out my comparisons and wrote notes. But the bottom line is how will you be using them, what you really need, is it a good investment and do you like how it looks?

I really appreciate all comments. Have been on CR, AJ Madison, Yale Appliance and CNET sites and found them very informative. Also learned that newer appliances don't offer the long time reliability of old. We have two other big challenges: a 68" high alcove for the fridge (not sure if we can get any additional space yet until we cut into top portion) and a microwave over the existing cooktop (no outside vent available). My thanks to you all for your comments and recommendations. I hope to make a choice within the next month.
