Using up 1 1/2" strips

After every quilt I make, I cut the small scraps into sizes that I will use. I have stacks of 1 1/2" strips cut into 3 1/2" to 12 1/2" lengths for log cabins. I needed to use some of them up, so I looked for a pattern. Here is what I'm doing with them. Unfortunately, I always have more dark strips than light ones, so I always end up cutting more light strips. I cut them mostly from larger scraps, so I don't feel too bad about doing that. The quilt will finish at 54" x 72."

Great use of your strips, Lois. I started a scrappy log cabin at retreat and now can't find it. After I put away all this sunflower fabric and Christmas stuff, maybe it will surface. lol

Always looking for new ideas, Lois and you are a great source. My next project will be a version of your Lozenge quilt. And I also MUST do something with all my strips and strings and pieces. They are taking over the room.

Theresa, we all inspire one another. I've had the opportunity to meet Sharon some years ago when she visited a relative in Minneapolis. (Hi, Sharon. I hope you find your log cabin blocks.) I hope someday I get the chance to meet you too. Have fun with your Lozenge quilt. My husband wears the apron I made with your fish fabric all the time. I never got a photo from my friend who used the rest of the fabric to make curtains for her grandson who is a fishing guide in northern Minnesota, but I hear he loves them.
