I’ve been trying to decide what to do on the walls of this investment property I recently purchased and I remembered this website usually has some folks with some helpful advice. So first off, I know what I “should” do to finish this part of the house. My days of gutting an entire house full of horsehair plaster are over though. So 3/8” drywall over top it is. Easy enough to pull the trim off and drywall it, but the baseboard heating has me stumped. Can I just drywall to the top of the baseboard heater cover? Or I could pull the top of the cover out just enough to slide 1/2” of the drywall behind? I’ve already repaired all the broken heating pipes in the house and decided I’m not getting into completely pulling all the heater covers off to properly drywall behind them. Has anyone had any experience with anything like this?
