Adding front porch & garage. help!

We recently purchased this cute home & are wanting to give it a face lift with a small porch on the front. With it being a Dutch Hip style roof, how would you recommend building a small front porch off of the existing roof? We really want to frame the front door to give it an “elevated” appearance. Also, we plan on making the single car garage into an additional bedroom and building a new garage to the left of the house. We have been troubled with thinking of what would look best as far as tying that in goes. Help please and thank you!

Ok. So here’s what I’m thinking. Why don’t you move the garage door to the left of the house. But instead of making the addition a garage just make that a new bedroom. No? Either way. The entrance to the garage should be on the left. Then remove the driveway and relocate. Obviously new grass... for he front. I’d do a big porch, but not necessarily the whole front of the house. I’d maybe do some French doors on both sides of the front door. Leading to the porch. (If the interior allows for it) and then maybe a herringbone pattern brick walkway to the door. New door, new lighting... adorable home btw. Love it!! So much potential!! I suggested a lot. So do what you can, take it slow and enjoy the process. Can’t wait to follow along

Yes that’s exactly what I was thinking!! But we were hoping to turn the existing garage into the new master bed & bath. And possibly adding a covered carport to the left or possibly even building a new garage to the left of the driveway (about midway up so you’ll pull into the driveway and turn left into garage) and building back from there onto the house for more sq footage. That would make the house more of like an L shape if that makes sense. But I love your idea, honestly I love how the possibilities are endless! It’s a fairly small house so I’ve been trying to figure out how we can reconfigure things to make more space. Here’s some photos of the current layout & some of the ideas I’ve had for changing it up. You’ll have to forgive me, I’m kind of a rookie! Lol

This is an idea for some curb appeal & elevating the roof pitch for a possible front porch (using photoshop)

Cute house - I think when you turn a garage into living space it never quite looks right unless you move the driveway. A driveway coming straight up to a window always looks like a garage conversion. The porch is easy. I'd just put a small porch on the front and have the roof tie in so that it mimics the little one over the single front window. I think this is a case where I would consult with a good architect. So many"remuddles" that don't come out well in the end.

I would suggest finding a talented architect to figure out the best way to create what you want.
