Block Party top completed (finally!)

Wow, this one was a challenge! It’s around 1500 pieces and 72” square. The pattern had very vague measurements and when I got to the outer corners they were too small. I went back to the pattern and refigured each component and added measurements, then ended up ripping it out back to the center medallion and fixing things that didn’t end up the right size. I am really glad it’s done! The pattern picture is done in dark rustic fabrics. I’m calling my version Caribbean Block Party.

I’ll add embellishments like beads or buttons for doorknobs and maybe street signs if I can figure out how to make them.

(Excuse the stripe of sunshine in the lower right...we‘re getting ready to paint and the window shade has been taken down.)

I hate ripping seams! I give you a lot of credit for sticking with it. It is exceptional!

Lot of work, lot of hours. Very impressive, pretty colors, a real work of art. Thanks for sharing. Embellishments sound fun to do because you can do as much or as little as you want.
