Drywall not 1/2 inch from the floor

Hello, I pulled off the baseboard in my kitchen and found one small wall near the doorway where the drywall dits directly on the subfloor. I heard this could cause moisture wicking. Would it be a good idea to take a utility knife and trim off some Of the drywall board at the bottom or just leave it as is?
