Furniture Lighting Dining Room

Kitchen Nook and Dining

Hello! We just started building our custom house and now it's time to pick the lighting. We opted out of a formal dining so the kitchen nook will be our only dining area. It is 10'X12'8". Would a 60" round table be good or rectangular? We have a family of 4 but want to be able to sit up to 6 if possible. Also, what size chandelier would you choose?

Thanks for the help. Here's the floorplan. The door will not be there.

10’ is very narrow for anything other than 36” wide for the table. Ideally you want 3’6” minimum -4’ is better- clearance from table edge to wall. This may force you into a rectangular table shape

Thank you for the information. I think 36" will be too small. We may have to look at something no bigger than 4'X6' or possibly a round that can extend to an oval. I guess I need to figure that out before the chandelier size.

The real issue is - will an expandable table fit once expanded? And yea definitely don’t select your light until you know the furniture below it.
