Design Dilemma Kitchens

Range hood replacement options

The over the range microwave sounds like it is ready to die. Instead of replacing it with another over the range microwave I want to do a range hood. I would like to do a paneled recessed built in vent similar to the picture below but I am concerned about the cabinet color matching.

IMO you do not have the space to do anything even close to the inspiration pic and you will never match your ther cabinets so at best you will need to decide on some other material or wood. Where are you going to vent the new hood ? I need to see your whole kitchen and the palce where the venting is going.

A simple range hood in stainless steel will work. Put the new microwave on the counter.
