HELP!! Botched Closet Work

Hi Everyone,

We'd truly appreciate your professional advice!!! A couple of days ago, we hired a handyman to help us refurbish the closet. The biggest problem with the closet are 1) the door frame on the right side is very cracked and looked like it's falling off (see the first two pictures). We wanted to reconnect it; 2) the doors don't slide well. Our handyman told us that we will re-nail the door frame and adjust the track. But when he readjust the door frame - he didn't level the casing!! Now we have an un even gap between the door and the frame!! (See pictures attached for before and after).

What should we do? I've been doing some research:

1) We can tear down the entire door frame and install a barn door similar to this https://www.amazon.com/ZEKOO-Bypass-Sliding-Hardware-Ceiling/dp/B082YYZLL1

2) take off the old casing again and install a new one

3) add a wood shim on the top part where the gap is big

4) saw the lower part of the door frame to align

Looking forward to hearing from you! Our handyman offered to help but honestly we are not sure about his capabilities ( the track is still having issues with sliding...)
