To stage, you have to present a "story board" for your home. What is the function of this room? Right now it is a sitting/dining/music room. That confuses the potential buyer. They'll also expect the fireplace to be a fixture and to sell with the house (remove it if it is not to be sold.) Make a clear statement of the room's purpose and your intention. Remove all but the table and and three armless chairs, one armed chair. You'll want to rent an air conditioned storage facility for the items you'll not use in staging. Turn the table, putting four chairs only, no leaf in the table. If you have a rug that exeed's the table's measurements by 4 feet each way you might try using it. Remove the dark curtains, leaving only the light panels. Hang the mirror vertically so it doesn't replicate the horizontal feeling given by the windows. Go to a party rental store and rent a large candelabra for the center of the table. If you have one or can get one, set it on a mirror for more sparkle. Add lit candles for showings (get the dripless kind) and make sure you hang the wall mirror low enough (center no more than 60" above the floor) so the candelabra is reflected. Set the table for two - the master and his wife at his right hand - wine glasses and wine included. Close the blinds and light the candles and let the room tell the story of a romantic dinner for two, instead of the story about there not being enough light in the space. Put a note around the neck of the wine bottle that says, "For the New Owners!"
