Hi! Newbie here to the forums. I am struggling with options to increase counter space with this particular layout. We have a small door going into the dining room. The kitchen has an adjacent breakfast nook bay window area. It is open to a large family room. I do not know which walls are load bearing at this time, but the kitchen is so cramped. I've toyed with the idea of closing off the door to the dining room to get a nice L shape, then taking the hall wall down for a large island, which would mean you would enter the hall to get to the dining room, but it's so close anyhow. I'm planning to work with a kitchen designer, but thought I should have some vision before I do! Thank you!
