If a table is 48" across, the space required for the table and chairs is 120" across. 36" past the table edge for the chair and for walking.

This is a 50" table from Macy's, but I doubt anything in an MCM style will have a finish designed to take the normal wear and tear of a kitchen.

not just the floors look yellow - everything kind of does perhaps because these walls are yellow! Can you paint them? I think going a neutral color on the walls would be a good place to start - like a very light taupe or greige look at Sherwin Williams Repose Gray or Mindful Gray.

A bench along the wall under the kitchen windows would better allow for a rectangular table with chairs on the opposite side.I think a medium to med/dk wood would add nice contrast in the kitchen, but I wouldn’t go espresso dark. The drapery rods are hung too low and since you don’t have any drapes hung on L windows either remove everything or adjust the rods higher and hang matching drapes from all rods. I think LR rug will be too small for under dining table also. I’ll find some table/chair/bench options for you.
