Pictures? Is this a slab or was it designed, prepped and treated to be a finished cement floor?

Maybe garage floor primer and paint??

If you do not remove every bit of what is there and properly prepare it the new paint will look like that again in short order.

    thanks for the advise.

Do you know of any other easy floor installation that wont get moldy with time.

how or what product is used to remove the remaining paint on the floor. sounds difficult but necessary

Use a scraper disc on a buffer to remove paint. diamonds to grind concrete.

I'd have it scraped clean, polished, then either sealed plain, or painted and sealed. Personally I wouldn't add a flooring product over it.

thanks everyone for your suggestions. We are going to prime and coat with epoxy paint used on garage floors. as suggested by the big box store.

If you don’t grind that to bare concrete, you’re going to get exactly the result that you have right now. In less than a year. Never ever listen to box store mouth breathers.

You will be back herein 6 months. Big box store is the worst place to go for advice on this. The only advice I ask for in a box store is where is the bathroom.

I ground the paint off my laundry room floor & painted it with PPG's Breakthrough paint. The paint is holding up great but it is a low traffic area.

is the floor insulated from the ground? I have an old uninsulated basement concrete floor and was told not to use any paint, because it will peel.

We had this when we bought our house in Florida. We installed tile on top of the cement. looks good and easy to clean.
