First, is the tinting happening to cold water coming out of all the faucets, even the outside ones? Are the neighbors having the same issue? If so then it's a question for the water company and isn't related to the water heater replacement.

Raye, the water is coming out blue-green from both the cold and hot water taps. We don't know the neighbors here, but I will see if I can ask around. Thank you! Stax, I will look into that. Appreciate the idea!

Thanks so much, Stax! It is daunting to think of how this would be addressed.

It may be as simple as running lots of water thru the pipes for a few hours... however, as you say, you may have a daunting task ahead. Replacement with either copper or pex can really be expensive.

Unfortunately, we have been running the water for hours (both last night and today) with no luck. :(

We also had the same problem. DH works in water, so he knew what it was. For us, our water was acidic. It slowly corroded the copper pipes. We had 300 feet alone from house to well. The slow corrosion of the pipes leached into the water. The only place you could see it was in the tub where the water was concentrated. We added a marble tank for the water to pass through before coming to the house. Over the years we have slowly replaced the copper pipes. Hope that helps!
