Kitchen idea evaluation help please

Since it is almost open floor kitchen with LR DR I will need to tie it together.

Any suggestions? I am going for natural cherry cabinets and would like things muted, light and warm- ish. Modern style mostly with some nods to traditional house funky style. Trim white. Furniture in LR DR from Ikea.

“Modern style mostly with some nods to traditional house funky style.”

What does that even mean? Perhaps show us a few inspirational pics?

Oh, sure. We just bought the house, which has some elements that I think as "funky".

Project will be DIY so everything will be done in stages as I work full time. My general preference runs toward clean modern contemporary lines, but I also like wood, tile, stone.

I need to paint LR and DR asap.

Wall color I am thinking Edgecomb gray and floor will be Aguaquard laminate Blonde oak for LR DR.

Kitchen which has somewhat open concept will have natural cherry finish Conestoga cabinets Shaker style.

Kitchen wall and backsplash will be tile similar to Cloe white and countertops I will be looking either at lighter cleaner look granite or white form of Corian.

Those are sellers pics as I could not get good lighting yet. Curtains are gone and trim will be painted white. Ceiling will be white and I will keep beam, not sure if I can restain it lighter tone. Ceiling is vaulted.

This is probably closest to what I can find as inspirational idea providing cabinets should be a lighter tone?

Current floor is laminate. Then carpets in bedrooms. Patch of vinyl tiles in hallway.

June, I will be working with kitchen designer, gearing up to order from Cabinet Joint.

Due to entrance hallway, stairs and vaulted ceilings I will have to engineer some smart scaffolding or hire a painter for that area so it is not something I want to keep redoing.

Patricia, I like Gray Wisp a lot. I have been behind the curve liking my beige earthy tones in my old house so am hoping to advance to light greiges lol

I do like greens a lot, LR and DR have south and west exposure, will Gray wisp be more blue or green I wonder? Thanks for the idea, will have to try.

We have two dogs who are seniors and a 14 year old cat so there is that. Area is not high end homes so I do not need to impress anyone, just please myself.

I am not considering hardwood, so my choices go towards laminates, vinyl planks, vinyl tiles or engineered hardwood. Budget is a consideration.

Lisa, Thank you! I like Valspar promenade as a color, really calming, those ideas look fantastic!

I am just wondering if I should give up on my natural wood cabs idea. Fake wood floor or painted cabintes....while I like white kitchen in pictures I have no patience to keep it clean. So utilitarian easy clean, somewhat concealing is my dream. I grow my own veggies, do a lot of canning so lots of cleaning dirt and colored fruits and veggies happen in my neck of woods....

I think i finally found a name I am after hygge style?

I updated the idea book as well but I think a concrete counter and smokey blue paint would pull it all together. stainless steel appliances and brushed nickel handles and light fixtures
