Hi Houzzers, I would love your help please in deciding which direction my wood floors should lie. I am having 8 inch wide engineered planks installed everywhere except the bathrooms.

Here is my floor plan.

Here is what the subfloor looks like in the Existing Living Room (facing the fireplace)

Here is what the floors used to look like - this is the Existing Living Room again, but this time standing at the front door, facing the backyard.

Should the floors go the same way that they used to? Lengthwise from the front door to the backyard?
