Love the first option! What’s it called?

The first image is the overall backlash gray textured arabesque with the center picture frame outlined in the second pictured glass multi colored mosaic with the glass frame in gold.

The kitchen has 2 parts. The overall kitchen then a coffee bar station pictured in the second photo. Only decorative piece will be the glass mosaic and frame above the stove and under the stainless steel hood

You are going to have *both* arabesque and mosaic picket tile as backsplash, plus the... texture of the granite? That's a lot of pattern. You may want to consider going with a calmer, more toned-down single backsplash.

The arabesque tile blends in too much with walls and countertop . We wanted to have some “pop” That would pick up the navy blue island and the honey bronze color hardware. It’s hard to see but the glass mosaic colors are much faded when up against the wall and in the natural light

have you tried tacking it up with blue tape so get a feel, bc I do have to agree it is a lot of business going on, but its also a hard call bc its still not complete.

Aslo what is the overall vibe you are going for?

I LOVE YOUR KITCHEN!!!! I think the mix of tiles might be busy but maybe this is what you are going for and it will probably look stunning. Meanwhile here are some pendants that make me smile and you might like them too.

So far this is the backsplash focal point (picture frame). We went with 3 of the blue and gold pendants. The island is 156in (13ft) in length and 60in (5ft) wide. Also the ceiling is approximately 18ft. This is a rebuild after we had a house fire and my parents did not want stairs with their age. Appreciate your comments and help!

I love the funky style of those pendants but they look small what size are they?

For an island that size I think you need to think oversized for the pendants.

We are hopping that all will work out with our pendants . They are three of the same nominal width 12in and height 15in. It’s so hard to shop online and try to make it perfect. I appreciate your help and time .. will def take a picture when it’s all done! Also this kitchen is the main room or “great room” as we call it. My parents wanted a ranch style without it looking like one. So there is actually a lot of empty space in this big kitchen area

Thanks everyone for your advice and time.. we actually are only going through this process since our family home of 30 years burned down with nothing but our lives . Our builder walked off the job after big scam -taking most of the money and has actually court cases pending against him for fraud and negligence and much more.. it will be 3 years this July since the fire and we are still trying to complete the project ourselves. I know it’s iffy the pendants will be of the right size.. my mom just ordered them since she loved the look. Unfortunately she really has no experience with this stuff. I’m really hoping for the best .. she’s tired and overwhelmed so I don’t want to annoy her. Worst case scenario we will have to return and find something else. Directly in front of the island we have 2 large bronze fandeliers and a lot of recessed lighting. But yeah I think the pendants are going to be too small..

you have very high ceilings. You need the pendant to be between 30-36" above the countertop. So, that leaves you with how much space above that point?

Bottom of pendants should be above head knocking height, generally 30-36" above countertop. Just leave extra wire so you can lower then if needed. Most hang fixtures too high.

i would probably go aoout 30 on those they look very sharp.
