No, but the fill should be tamped, the vapor barrier replaced and taped (for radon), and there should be a capped stub somewhere in the joists to connect the vent to later.

Also, make sure the bathroom layout is correct and everything is stubbed-out in the right locations before they put concrete back in place...

I assume the builder already discussed the bathroom layout with you and there is some sort of a drawing that the plumber used to lay this all out... Because if not you will end up breaking the concrete again to move the plumbing.

The last 4 basement designs I did for homeowners involving new construction, the builder put all the plumbing stub-outs in the basement in the wrong locations, and the floor had to be broken up and plumbing had to be moved in every home.

My builder completed the 3pc plumbing and they gave us an option to stain or paint the whole basement as the concrete color is different from the rest of the basement. Could you please suggest if we need to get the basement stained or painted for better results in terms of long life, durability and look?

Looks like they did a neat, workmanlike job. Shouldn't have any effect on the major issues: long life and durability. If the contractor is offering to make it look uniform, why not?

IMO...I would go with stain.

That patch will be covered by the bathroom flooring. See if the builder will frame the bathroom walls instead.

The issue in my mind if not stain or paint but how they will prep since this is on them. Without solid prep work it will not long good for too long and the prep for stain will be infinitely more in depth than for paint.

I have to check with the builder to see if they will be doing proper prep work before they apply stain or paint. They should do the prep properly. If the builder says they will do it. Do you suggest stain or paint?

I would leave it raw, too.
