I had it in my previous garden and I miss it terribly! It was the most vigorous grower, very large and in bloom constantly (grafted on multiflora). My only (tiny) issue was the color -- a nice pastel shade but didn't last very long. The center started apricot but faded quickly, and from a distance the blooms looked almost white. That was in Zone 6.

Hi Lilyfinch, Crocus Rose is a great rose in the right area. It’s strength was that it was the quickest to repeat. However, it was my most disease prone Austin and only had a light scent and so I did end up removing it a couple of years ago. I can’t find some of my other pictures of it but here is one.

Tall, easy to train as a climber in a protected spot, bloomed steadily, no fragrance; the color blends well with clematis. Got spots, but overall good health. It was beautiful with a shrubby clematis at its feet, but I finally dug it out last spring because I really want strong fragrance or exceptional health and growth.

The Moore rose "Keith's Delight" gives me 10 times the flowers that are also a pale yellow, but with an added pink edge. There's no fragrance, but constant heavy bloom and super healthy shiny leaves, canes are thick and robust, and the plant easily stays a plump 4-5' round bush. Keith's Delight is robust and fully flowered -- one of Moore's best!

Have you seen Karl Ploberger? It is an under-appreciated rose. It was bred by Kordes, but is not like most of his roses. Tall but graceful; healthy, hardy, and a steady bloomer with sweetly fragrant (a sweet myrrh scent -- I wonder @ its parentage!) pale cream/very pale yellow flowers that go with most things. Roses Unlimited carries it.

I like my Crocus Rose but it gets more bs than some other Austins in my garden. Some say it's bs resistant. In your climate I'd think it would be healthy. It's a strong, very dense, shrubby grower about 6'x 5, and is a good repeater. I don't know about mildew or rust...we don't get that here. ( zone 7 NC)
