You could probably grow them in a half whiskey barrel or other large container. If grown in the ground ammend the soil.

We can grow them in N.FL in the ground. The soil is ammended if its too sandy.

I read that if growing them in S FL you should choose a heat tolerant, mid season variety.

I have one, partial shade and very rarely flowers. It will form flower buds but they dont open. Just too warm here for them. They do well in Central Fl.

I tried a couple of times in 9b, and they just didn't bloom. They also suffered from the summer heat and humidity, even planted in deep shade. 9a is about their limit.
