Thank you for the idea. I am not really sure I want to do a entire curtain wall. Is there anything else I can do besides a curtain across the entire wall.

I love the idea for curtains all the way across behind the bed. Then, you could add the small word art over on the side.

I am honestly not sure I can get my husband on board with a curtain wall. any other suggestions without a curtain wall?

I don’t think curtains will work with the placement of the headboard. I would try to break up all the darker blue with throw pillows, fuzzy throw in an accent color or two from the rug that you like-

Oops! Try putting the blue shams behind your bed pillows- again to break things up a little. Use different textures. Artwork above the bed is going to be difficult because of the placement of the headboard.
Maybe a tall plant in the corner (assuming what’s there can be moved).
You could also put artwork on one or both sides of the 2 windows.

First of all, just a very minor thing, but I think you need to change the light bulbs in your lamps because they are too yellowy.

Second have you considered angling the bed and rug into the corner?

can you afford shutters? white shutters? Would you be willing to keep the shutters on the window closest to the closet closed most of the time?

if the idea of shutters appeals, the I would suggest going bery strongly with white and blue, plus black, for all the rest of the decor. Mix in more white pillows on the bed, wlitr and blue, black and white, add another throw in white. Thonk about switching out the hardware on youe wood furnitues to blue and white porcelain pulls.

maybe blue and white ceramic bedside lamps? I don’t think your nightstands need to match and it might look better if the didn’t exactly match.

My first suggestion would be a mirror over the left nightstand (to visually balance the window on the left). That way you would gain symmetry around your bed - mirror on one side, the window on the other -> both provide visual depth.

The mirror should be in similar proportions to the window, probably also with a white frame.

I think it's the single most important change you'd need to make - to find symmetry and balance around your bed.

Thank you for the suggestions. I think I can add a tall plant to next to my jewelry box corner. And I can hang pieces next to my double windows. should I just leave above my headboard as is?

I don’t think I can angle the bed or rug. The room is only 12X12 and our dressers are bulky. But we need the storage as our closet is small. We might have been able to pull angling off with the Queen size bed but not the king.

I can add more white pillows and a throw to break up the navy.

I would move the bed to under the window and there do the wall of drapes behind the bed. I had weird off centered windows on this wall and just couldn’t really work with it so this was my soution and IMO the perfect one for you but I would move the bed . Once you do the drapes the headbord will not be seen from outside and you will still have a window you can open

I would leave the space above the headboard empty. Normally you’d center things in the headboard but because the headboard is not centered I think it would feel off.
Make some of the changes suggested and see how it feels.
I think if you add artwork, pillows and other textures elsewhere it will help with what you’re trying to achieve.

Another thought... maybe try putting the bed on the wall where the 2 windows are and moving the dressers to where the bed is?
Not sure how you feel about your head by the windows or blocking part of the windows. I understand that but maybe it would “feel” better given the limitations with the bed size and space?

Having the curtains on the whole wall would probably solve some of the issue but I agree that's a lot of fabric and I can certainly imagine DH would not love that here either!

I like the idea of something symmetrical to the window ( like a mirror as suggested above).

You have made very nice selections and it's the placement that's the challenge. I really like the items in the first post by Ital mover.

What about a round too mirror? Or should I stick with rectangle?

Another idea: what about replacing one of the nightstands for a narrower one to allow the bed to be scooted over to clear the window? Would that leave enough room to walk on that side? If your bed is the standard 76 inches for a King, that leaves you 68 inches on that wall. Right now, you have 34 inches on each side? I don't know how many inches the bed overlaps the window but if it can be centered on the wall (forgetting the window is part of the wall), then art above it would make more "sense". That said, the headboard doesn't leave much room for art above it.

I do think the blue needs to be repeated in the room for balance and lamps would be a good spot for it. Love the last lamp italmover shared. Perhaps pillows could introduce a soft colour and texture to complement the blue and white? You can also play with a range of blues. Decorative pillows are very much trial and error but it can be a lot of fun to search for that special touch.

I love pinks and purples with blues so would be tempted to introduce a soft purple to the mix:

Ochre is a popular colour right now and some love it with blues.

Blues and greens are classic.

A fabric print that includes your duvet's blue would be "ideal" but it's not always easy to find an exact blue match.

Etsy has loads of options though so you're bound to find something you love.

The new wall colour looks lovely in the natural light pics. Serene and brighter than the previous. Agree about the yellow from current bulbs (could also be camera's doing. Might be less yellow irl?)

Would your bed work under the other window?

Another idea...with your furniture being so dark, and also to soften the look with your lovely headboard, maybe consider lighter and layered bedding. It will also compliment your rug.

If you use that gothic arches mirror might be nice to carry through with swag curtains. I would put just one big swoop of swag across the double window, swooping from right to left, which would cover at least half of the left window in that double set, (skip the pom poms)

Great idea Maureen, I was just wondering whether The bed could be turned. I also thought of the possibility of a linen Roman shade that would slope in the center, though I think I like the curtains best.

For the rods, should I do dark rods like my furniture or like silver?

Unfortunately the bed can’t be placed under my double windows due to the placement of the closet & entry door. The double windows arent centered either 🤦‍♀️ The king bed really restricts us. But it’s so comfortable!!

Also one big swoop as in curtains only technically on the left side?
